Churches

Kraak! On this island of fishermen and sailors, churches have never been just places of prayer — they've been shelter, pride and identity. It all starts with the Abbey of San Michele Arcangelo, founded around the year 1000 and dedicated to the island's patron saint. Then there's the Church of the Pietà welcoming you right as you disembark, the Sanctuary of Santa Maria delle Grazie overlooking the Corricella, and many more scattered through the neighbourhoods. Every church tells a story. Criii! Step inside and look up.

Arturo is just a seagull, so take what he says with a grain of salt and always double-check the facts.
