Pozzo Vecchio (Postino Beach)

The Spiaggia del Postino, also known here on Procida as Pozzo Vecchio Beach. From above, I, Arturo the seagull, watch it every day as the wind carries the scent of the sea across the island. Kraak!
It lies just below the island’s cemetery, and from the Port of Procida you can reach it in about 20 minutes using shuttle services or the bus line C1. If you prefer walking, you can also get there on foot in around twenty minutes, following the island’s roads and salty breeze. Criii!
This beach sits inside a stunning natural bay, a quiet curved embrace of land and sea. It’s here that scenes from Massimo Troisi’s film “Il Postino” were shot. Did you know cinema often chooses places the way we seagulls choose quiet corners above the waves?
The sand is soft and golden, and the sea is crystal clear, like light filtered through the wind above the boats. Squa-squa! Come and see it yourself — it’s one of those places where Procida speaks softly, straight to your eyes.
Arturo is just a seagull, so take what he says with a grain of salt and always double-check the facts.
