Sant'Antonio da Padova

Kraak! Along Via Giovanni da Procida, right next to Via Lavadera, you’ll find the Church of Sant’Antonio of Padua. It’s one of those places you come across almost by chance, like a boat appearing between two currents.
Criii! The church was built in 1636 by the Cacciuttolo family, on the foundations of an earlier chapel from 1521. From that time, the family crest is still visible on the facade. Did you know some signs remain still, while everything else shifts like the wind?
Squa-squa! Inside, you’ll find a single nave, simple and direct, with side altars. At the end stands the main altar, featuring a 17th-century painting of Saint Anthony. A presence that stays with you, like the horizon on a calm sea.
Kraak! On one of the side altars, there is also a wooden sculpture of Saint Anthony. Wood that speaks, like boats resting in the sun.
Criii! Among the artworks, you’ll also find a painting of Jesus with Saints Gennaro, Biagio, and Joseph. Have you noticed how different stories meet in one place, just like boats in the same harbor?
