Getting around

Kraak! Once you arrive in Procida, one question comes naturally: how do you get around? The island is small, just 4 km², and in theory you could walk everywhere… but with hills and the summer heat, it’s worth choosing carefully.

Distances here are short: even the longest route, from Marina Grande to Marina Chiaiolella, takes about 30 minutes. But every path has its own rhythm, like different waves on the same sea. Criii! Want a clearer view? Take a look below.

Walking routes

Marina Grande – Corricella: about 10 minutes. It starts uphill, then you reach Piazza dei Martiri and go down toward Via San Rocco, where you’ll find stepped stairs leading to the village. There are also other routes, more scenic but more demanding. And remember: no vehicles reach Corricella.

Marina Grande – Terra Murata: about 20 minutes, even though it’s just 1 km. Why? It’s all uphill. Along the way, there’s a belvedere — a panoramic viewpoint — where you can see Corricella from above, the island’s most iconic view. At the top, even more views and museums to visit.

Buses

Squa-squa! Buses all depart from Marina Grande, just behind the ticket offices at the maritime station. You can buy your tickets there, or directly on board with a small extra fee.

Vehicle rental

Kraak! At the port and in several spots around the island, you’ll find vehicle rentals: scooters, bikes, and more, to explore freely and reach every corner with ease.

Criii! Procida is small, yes… but every climb, every turn, every view is worth the journey. You just have to choose how to move with it.
